"Gato Roboto" 100 Word Review

Gato's strength, fun, and charm comes from it's low key and simplified presentation and world. There's a bit of a cut-scene and a couple jokes then it's off to the races. This game never challenges its own concepts, genre, or limits. Metroid as a mech? Awesome. Six levels and about a five hour time cap? Good enough. The game made me question my relationship to difficulty curves. Do mid-game bosses seem harder because I've mastered play by the time I reach the end? Gato kicked my ass a little bit there. But like all things Gato does, never over-stepped.

7/10
